MIDDIE PRIDE
People genuinely care

ABOUT THE PHOTOGRAPH:
I live in the historic South Main District. This picture has me in it. And it is a picture of the old South Park sign on Main Street. This corner here has lots of daylilies in it. There are American flags. And I think those are petunias. There's also a cement monument that relates to this park. Apparently, at one point in time, there was a school there. Now it is completely changed into a children's park.
Middie Pride is the communities coming together and beautifying the parks, keeping their yards up and in nice and neat and tidy. They take pride in having events downtown that incorporate all of Middletown. I think that Middie Pride and the strength of it is that people who genuinely care about their city do what they can to try and make it a better place to live. I love the parks in Middletown South Main, the old South Park here that I have in this photo. It's bringing nature inside the city. I really think that is beneficial to all people to be able to spend time outdoors in the in the fresh air, and you can hear birds singing and you see everything blooming. Maintaining Middletown is part of that pride.
