A STRONG WOMAN, JUST LIKE HER

Ishmriti Biswa

“What are we looking at, we see in this picture is joy and comfort. One of them, my sister on the left, she doesn't live with us. So we barely get to see her. So when we see her, it brings me a lot of comfort. It feels like my family is complete again.

“When we were kids, me and her, we always used to be together. When my mom my dad used to travel, she was basically like my second mom. So I feel like I see a mom when I see her. She's one of the most beautiful, kind hearted and most caring person in the whole universe to me.

“It just shows us how we have each other's backs in that picture. Because that picture has like a meaning behind it. Like when we were getting in trouble, we were comforting each other. So that made me realize how they're gonna always be there for me. Even if I'm doing something bad, they are gonna tell me the truth, even if I'm wrong, too. So then that gave me hope.

“My mom, she's literally the definition of a fighter. When we're in the wrong, she's gonna call that person and make us apologize to them. She makes me the person who I am now. She always taught me to give people food and give back to people because it's going to help you in the long run. You're going to feel good, you're going to earn joy and happiness.”
