ABOUT THE PHOTOGRAPH:

“This is my wonderful family. This is my dad. He's deceased now, my mom and my six sisters, and my one brother. I chose this picture because it's actually a painting. My sister went on Facebook and took pictures of each one of us off our Facebook page. Then she had him paint it with all the same colors. If you see our teeth are all perfect. I thought that was awesome. So I picked this picture because it's about family, community and love. The picture is important to me because all these people are important to me. I miss my dad, he passed away two years ago. But it's a wonderful picture and it sits in my mom's family room and it's huge. So it reminds us that we are family.”
