ABOUT THE PHOTOGRAPH:
“It’s kind of a perfect picture that you see the cross—God is like, you know, my, my rock; and the gentleman in the background is like a mentor—Father Frank Sauer is one of the first men I met here at this church. He was at the church before me, and he was the one who was brought to this church to keep it open. The Community Council at the time, they had the Roll Hill School open for us to go in there and play in with the kids. Then the Boys & Girls Club came, and they had money ,we didn't. So we had to get out. They went out looking for a place for us to go to do what we do out there right now. And in that session, again, the pastor gave the keys to us right away.”
