ABOUT THE PHOTOGRAPH:

“I came to actually attend this church here, Third Church in East Westwood. I attended for approximately two to three years, pretty regularly on Sunday mornings. And then it was basically through a basketball program that I met Coach Rodney Christian; that was approximately seven years ago. Since then, I've just been involved through the men's breakfast here at this church, and I catch some basketball games with Coach Rodney, as well as volunteer with the youth. Specifically, the youth that used to come to this after-school program here at Third Church, there was two of the young men at the time, they were like 13 or 14, that just organically started asking, ‘Hey, you know, we play basketball here at this little court here by the church.’ And then they said, ‘Hey, can we come with you to a gym?’ Then they started asking all the time. They wanted to keep going and playing basketball because they enjoy the game.”
