“My daughter Te’Airea was running for City Council with the guidance of Rodney, the president of the East Westwood Council. He has encouraged her to be the best that she can be. He has encouraged all the kids up here to be the best that they can be. It shows how people can grow, from her being a little girl—coming up here and joining the church and the stuff they had for her growing up—to the young lady she's grown to be. I was so happy when he encouraged her to run for City Council. I'm sure he's not just encouraging her. He's encouraging all the other kids up here. I was a single mom, and he took these kids under his wing and encouraged them to be the best that they that they could be.”
